Version 2.48 - December 2010

We are pleased to announce the release of Version 2.48 of eTracker, which contains the following feature updates:

1. A new user guide for version 2.48 which covers all aspects of the system.

2. New Subject Review Screen - This has enhanced and greatly improved the functionality and ease of use of this screen in line with the Action Plan and Enter Results screens.

3. For A Levels - Tracking of Projected Grade (predicted grade or MAG) against MTG. eTracker will now show whether a student is under, on or above their Minimum Target Grade. When a subject review is generated, a Projected Grade can be entered for each student at course level and eTracker will automatically track this against the MTG. Currently it only works for A Levels, but it is in our development roadmap to roll this out for as many qualification types as possible. Look at Gifty on our demo site to see the result. In order to get this working, projected grades need to be inserted by the course leader in the Subject Review screen. For if the MTG for a student is BBC then 3 subject reviews , one for each course, will need to be generated and therefore three separate projected grades for each one, entered. Then eTracker will do the rest.

4. Enter Results screen - A new feature that will enable staff to populate (fill-down) all scores (ticks or grades) for one criterion for all students on the screen. In other words staff will be able to cascade an object fill down a column of students for each criterion. This will speed up marking of progress.

5. Alter the way the unit status flag operates - To change the status of the unit (not started, running , complete) will now be handled using a drop down box and it will not reload the page. This will prevent the screen jumping around and re-setting the selected course to 'none'.

6. New User Role in eTracker - Supplementary Course Leader will have the same permissions as the Course Leader, thus being able to add comments in the Course leader comments box on a subject review, plus other permissions.

7. Head of Department added permission - The HOD will now be able to modify the Course Leader Comments box in the Subject Review Screen.

8. CFCs visible to students - Students already receive the CFC email when one is raised against them, however, they have been unable to view them within eTracker. This has now been changed.

9. A new lib (library) file which handles some of the major functions of the system, such as authentication. This has been re-written to handle processes more efficiently and to enable us to develop new features more easily.

10. Newly re-written Subject Review report in line with item 2 above and to speed up the load time of the report.

Notes:

- We are no longer supporting the browser IE 6 due to the security risks associated with the browser.
- bksb integration is progressing well. We have managed to get the two systems to talk to each other and are now testing on a live installation before release.
