Training Teachers

We provide and deliver courses specifically designed for the teacher or trainer, enabling them to proactively utilise the VLE in their sessions, and enhance the teaching and learning environment in the classroom.

Training is provided in the use of Moodle or LAMS, comprising half, one or two day courses specifically tailored to your requirements. We also write bespoke training sessions to meet your individual needs. There are courses for the beginner, right through to the advanced user.

Training Administrators

Every establishment should have a person identified to administer its VLE. We provide training for the VLE administrators and maintainers of your system. This training could include;

  • Backing up the VLE
  • Setting up courses
  • Managing resources.

We deliver half day and one day training sessions for the administrator. We also write bespoke training sessions to meet your requirements. We also provide an administration service should you prefer to let someone else worry about the administration matters.

Training ICT

For many education establishments there will always be a steep learning curve for staff getting used to a new system. You may have staff who are not as familiar with computers as others, and it is therefore important that they don’t get left behind. We provide targeted training for those individuals who require additional skills in the general use of PCs, which can result in a recognised qualification.

Support

Our support covers three key areas in the day to day use of a VLE:

  • Technical support – After the installation of the VLE, should there be any technical queries with the hardware, we are able to assist in rectifying any technical difficulties you may have.
  • Software support – Covers any help or advice when setting up lessons and activities within the VLE as well as the upload, use and creation of any content.
  • User support – Providing user assistance on a daily basis for individuals or teams within your establishment. Our services are available in a variety of ways:
  • Telephone assistance - offering immediate assistance for day to day problems
  • Web based assistance – backing up the telephone support service, our online support can prove and efficient way of contacting us.
  • On site support – For those occasions when telephone support is not enough, we are available to attend to your situation on site should it not be possible to rectify it remotely.

Content Creation

This can be very time consuming to create, so VLE Support can develop bespoke content specifically for in-class activities. These can range from an enhanced static document to a fully interactive multimedia presentation, SCORM and IMS compliant content. They are all developed through a process of consultation and requirements building, and culminating in the finished product. Throughout the process the main learning outcomes are always the focus, ensuring the final product meets all the teachers’ objectives, and enhances the teaching and learning during the session.

Personalise

If you don’t have a brand, we can even work with you to create one, apply it to the VLE, help and advise you on how your brand can be applied to every relevant area within your establishment. Personalisation doesn't just apply to the establishments branding, it also applies to the fundamental integration of the system in to any current system that may be already in existence. It is important that the new VLE operates in harmony with existing systems. Whatever the requirement, VLE Support will work very closely with you to ensure as smooth a journey as possible is achieved.

Installation

We can install the software and integrate the system to link seamlessly with your establishment’s database to ensure that staff and students have a unified log in. There is no guarantee that this can be achieved, but we will try hard to succeed!

Migration

If you have a current VLE or e-Learning system in place, during the installation of the new application you will probably want to transfer any current materials and resources across to the new platform. We provide a service to do that for you and will do it during the installation process of the new system. We also create content and resources for you, with our team of specialist developers.

Consulting / Audits

We will help you with the process of deciding whether a VLE is right for you, which VLE to use and how to go about the installation, migration of data and training. We also provide a service of general consultation in matters related to e-Learning and VLEs.

Hosting

Our partner company Atomwide provides a hosting service. Together we can arrange hosting, installation and configuration of the VLE on a dedicated or shared server according to the requirements.

Integration / Authentication

Our main purpose with any installation of a VLE is to integrate it seamlessly with any current system, and that includes authentication with the establishment’s current database system. The benefit being users will not require multiple usernames and passwords.
