Many more colleges adopt eTracker as VLE Support continues to offer more to its clients

As the electronic revolution continues to sweep through the FE sector, many more colleges have elected eTracker as their electronic ILP of choice. VLE Support, the company who created and develop eTracker, have had an extremely busy summer, installing eTracker in colleges around the country, including Cornwall College, South Birmingham College, South Staffordshire College, Central Sussex college and Barry College (South Wales).

VLE Support attribute much of their recent success down to their commitment to continually develop and improve eTracker. They are continuing to build their pre-loaded course database, which is now being used in several colleges, and will contain the units and criteria for all the courses in the QCF. They are also working in partnership with bksb to integrate the two systems, so eTracker will show students’ progress in the Basic, Key and Functional Skills tests against their progress in other qualifications.

Introducing a product such as eTracker presents colleges with many challenges as they introduce teaching staff to a new way of managing their students’ progress. The colleges who have bought eTracker have all benefited from a new Consultancy Support service that VLE Support are providing to assist colleges in their change management programmes. Tim Lyth, former Vice Principal of Carshalton College, is spearheading the Consultancy service on behalf of VLE Support. Through examination and discussion of colleges’ existing strengths and weaknesses, Tim aims to facilitate: effective implementation of the changes from senior managers and the frontline project team; high levels of commitment to the project from both teaching and business-support staff and more effective teaching and learning through the greater engagement of learners, parents and employers.

VLE Support are confident that the continuing developments to eTracker and the additional guidance provided by the consultancy support will enable the new wave of colleges adopting eTracker to achieve exceptional results for their students.
